Father - Son Day

so Bob and i took a ride up to Joseph, OR. to meet up with some other Ducati riders that he's in a group with. Sasha's got his hands full so he wasn't expected to be able to make it. maybe soon we'll all be riding together, three generations of Pave's. it was a great trip, met with a few challenges, but nothing unusual for a road trip of this nature. i've got a few pics, but hopefully Bob's got more. a few of the highlights:

Bob's bike loves to fall over when no one is on it. this happened again in a dirt lot on the ride up. only some cosmetic damage, and a little ego punch, but no sweat, Bob took it better than anyone i know. "fuck it, we'll just bend it back". Bob's best line after that was, "this Italian whore will lay down for anyone".

Phil caught a flat. easy fix since it was in town in Marysville.

i caught a flat on Sunday on the way back. couldn't get any plugs to hold. they kept coming out. we made it as far as Pendleton, OR. not far at all from Joseph. called my wonderful In-Laws, Sande & Keith who bought me a tire in Portland. there was no place open on a Sunday anywhere near where we were. i rode Bob's bike to Cascade Locks to meet them, about 40 miles outside of PDX. i am blessed with the best In-Laws, and i'm not writing that just because they're the only ones who read my drivel. i could have been so screwed with crappy In-Laws who wouldn't do something like that for me, or who i wouldn't want to ask something like that of. they are out there, i've seen 'em. lucky for me i got the nicest family in the world, no shit my friends. anyway, rode back, found a shop monday that would replace the tire. $300 later we're back on the road for a long ass day down to Medford.

cannot ride to Oregon without seeing Nonny Fo!!! absolutely impossible. my grandma-in-law. she's absolutely amazing. i feel at home at her place almost more than my own home. two fantastic home cooked meals later, it's tues. and Bob and i are on our way down I5.

hot as hell!!! Redding was crazy hot. so was the rest of I5. we just wanted to slab it to get home quick. we had enough of amazing roads, we both wanted some amazing couch/tivo time.
